Please help us reach our goal of continuing to provide student stipends for work in public interest law. Thank you on behalf of the College of Law, and the students and alumni who work in the public interest.
The 15th Annual Public Interest Society Auction will be held the evening of Friday, March 26, 2010. It will be held in the Thurgood Marshall Gallery in conjunction with the Francis X. Riley Lecture.
The PILS Auction provides stipends for students who volunteer to work in public interest legal positions during the summer. The stipends, which help defray costly commuting and living expenses, enables students to gain valuable legal experience and also provides public interest agencies to much-needed assistance. Previous stipend recipients have worked with the Chicago Board of Education, Illinois Coalition for Equal Justice, NAACP, and the United Nations.
We strongly encourage you to donate to this great cause and help provide NIU College of Law students the opportunity to pursue their goal of working in the public interest. Without the financial support of the stipends, many students could not afford to accept these positions. Donating to the PILS Auction makes it possible for individuals in the community to benefit from the innovative, enthusiastic, and dedicated students of the NIU College of Law. If you are not able to donate items, please consider an ad in our auction booklet.
Any donations you can make will be greatly appreciated. Please let us know as soon as possible:
Donations to the NIU PILS Auction are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
